5 November – 10 December 2016

The Festival is supported by The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Art Grant Scheme and Lithuanian Council for Culture. It is organized by the Baltic Music Society in cooperation with the Baltic Council.

Young Baltic Talent Concert

The concert features award-winning young Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian musicians from London’s premier music schools.

Baltic Chamber Music

The Orphic Trio performs works by Arvo Pärt, Pēteris Plakidis, Onutė Narbutaitė and Bronius Kutavičius.

Music by Vladas Jakubėnas

A concert of music by Lithuanian émigré composer Vladas Jakubėnas featuring the renowned cellist Oleg Kogan and the pianists Polina Kogan, Rokas  Zubovas and Sonata Zubovienė.

Latvian Music

The Balanas Trio performs music by Latvian composers Pēteris Vasks and Jānis Mediņš.

The EST Ensemble performs works by the Estonian composers Kuldar Sink, Ester Mägi, Heino Eller, Arvo Pärt, Mart Saar, Lepo Sumera and Eduard Tubin.

Juozas Gruodis Works for violin and piano

Violinist Christopher Horner and pianist John Lenehan perform works by Juozas Gruodis – the most significant musical figure in interwar Lithuania. The concert will also include works by the Estonian composers Arvo Pärt and Eduard Tubin, as well as the Latvian Pēteris Vasks.

Lithuanian Music

The Lithuanian violinist Rusnė Mataitytė performs a programme of music for solo violin by Lithuanian composers Jurgis Juozapaitis, Bronius Kutavičius,Vykintas Baltakas,Vidmantas Bartulis, Anatolijus Šenderovas and Loreta Narvilaitė. The programme will also include a work by the British composer Sadie Harrison Songs for Rusne which is based on elements of Lithuanian musical tradition.
